Integration: MS Outlook Calendar
in progress
Jeremy Anderson
One critical piece of this is connecting with Enterprise Outlook accounts. One of the big challenges I've had with various desktop / wall smart calendar devices (e.g. Tidbyt) is they get stifled by Enterprise authentication mechanisms such as Single Sign On apps like Okta. The Enterprise manager will often throw an exception and say "Hey! We don't want to give our data to that untrustworthy nobody app/service, go pound sand!"
Finding a way to be able to view my work calendar
securely
and privately
(such that Inkboard can't see the data at all, essentially keeping it local, not brokered in the cloud) without requiring the Enterprise Owner to explicitly grant permission would be ideal.I'm wondering if perhaps there's a way to achieve this with a
direct
connection to the work machine, e.g., via USB to my work PC. That way a local agent could just take the information from Outlook directly via its APIs rather than try to connect to an online service like Microsoft 365 to bridge the data.Harshyt Goel
