Pomodoro or Visual Timer
Harshyt Goel
For discussion:
Since Inku uses color e-ink screens that focus on saturation (ie making the colors look good), it takes a few seconds for the screen to update (what the kickstarter end to end demo video) . That is kind of why the calendar was a good use case.
With that hardware restriction - i do think we can do a pomodoro timer but without a visible countdown, or maybe a vague countdown every 5-10 minutes but that could also feel distracting.
So essentially:
Start Time -> Screen shows cute tomatoes and duration of timer -> Screen does not change until your time ends and we go out of pomodoro time -> Repeat.

Harshyt Goel I think it would be great with an every 5 min screen update, even with the flashes, it would give me a reminder I was 1/3 through a 15 minute pomodoro timer!

alexiegalaxieart@gmail.com Yeah i think that could work!

alexiegalaxieart@gmail.com I agree! That’s what I was thinking when I suggested it :)

Harshyt Goel I actually think this would be an amazing twist to the pomodoro timer : we have pomodoros that update real time everywhere, this would be an amazing way to have the pomodoro ending not interrupting you if you're in flow mode ! :D
(And avoid checking how much time is left all the time could help with focus)

Melina Auer I agree too! Sometimes seeing the countdown is more distracting or anxiety provoking. The slower approach might actually be more helpful! :)
